  • Newspaper clipping: "Making his first appearance in a ring, Pte. L. W. Lantz, Kitchener, of No. 2 Company, showed well to win over Pte R. C. W. Radon, Foam Lake, Sask., No. 1 Company, in their 145-pound go. Lantz lost a tooth and bled from a cut lip during the first round, but gamely continued to outpoint his rival. Radom [sic] had an unusual trick of turning his back on his opponent and swinging wildly behind him. Several of these caught Lantz with jarring effects."
